DataFab offers ECP/EPP (Parallel Port) CompactFlash Card Drives, MDCF, MDCFE and MD1, which connect CompactFlash Cards to almost all computers (Desktop, Notebook or Palmtop Computers) through Parallel Port externally.
Connecting CF cards to computers through parallel port offers much higher transfer speeds than serial port. Transfer rate ranges from 370 KB/S to 1,500 KB/S in EPP/ECP modes and 150 KB/S to 295 KB/S in SPP modes. These speeds are 35 times to 350 times faster than that of regular serial ports.
CF card is recognized as an external hard disk to computer when connected, the images and data files stored in CF cards are just like the files stored in regular hard disk.
They are compatible with DOS, Windows, Windows 95 and Windows NT. The products are designed for easy and mobile uses, They can be powered by keyboard port directly or AC/DC adapter or dry cell battery pack.
They are specifically designed for the users of Digital Camera, PDA and other mobile electronic devices which uses CompactFlash Card as standard storage media.
